Meet the Spirit – Emmie

A Winnie the Pooh teddy bear drops from out of seemingly nowhere.  A little cartoon looking character picks up the bear and gives it a big hug.  This character looks like a small girl, with red hair, and a green nightgown. She looks to be a pencil drawing.  In the background is dark with a little light coming from the left side of the scene.

I ask this guide her name and she says it is Emmie.

I ask what message she has for us today and she hugs the teddy bear again.  Now she comes over to me and gives me a hug.  This is a message about the power of hugs.  That simple hug brings a great joy and feeling of love and warmth to me.

This is a message to hug the ones your love.  Don’t be afraid to show your affection – in the appropriate circumstances.  And, if you are looking for a hug, don’t forget about the love of a teddy bear or other stuffed animal.

When you would hug your stuffed animal as a child, you would release a little bit of your essence – your own love – into that inanimate object.  Then, when you needed some of that love back, hugging again brought you that comfort.  There is nothing wrong about doing this as an adult. So find a snuggly stuffy and give it a great big squeeze.
