Meet the Spirit – Sam

We are at a beach. The scene pulls back and we see a group of individuals playing beach volleyball. One woman comes and steps out of the game to get a drink of water from her water bottle. She is tall and athletic looking – wearing a bikini, but one that covers her up pretty well like a sports bra, not a skimpy one. She has on a black visor and her long sandy blonde hair is in high pigtails.

I ask her what we can call her and she says Sam.

I ask what message she has for us today. 

She shows me the volleyball game that she was just playing. Sometimes it feels like all we are doing is responding to what comes our way – of hitting back the ball that comes for us – of diving in the sand trying to catch the next ball to drop. But, we have the ability and opportunity to take control of the game. We can dig down deep and serve the next ball – to let our energy and ideas release out into the world and see where they land – if they get lobbed back and if we have the chance to respond. We can also crouch down and jump high to spike back – we won’t always hit the mark – sometimes we will fall – but in this game of life we have the opportunity to do what we choose with our energy – it is not all about responding – we can send out energy if we desire.
