Friday Feature Review: The OA

Recently, I had a friend recommend that I watch The OA. This is a show that Netflix kept recommending to me, but the initial trailer never drew me in enough to get me to click and start watching. But, I thought I would give it a try, and am I glad I did!

The premise of The OA is difficult to explain. You could say it is about a blind woman who was kidnapped and when she got back home after seven years in captivity she could see again…but really, the show is much more than that.

I was drawn in by the spiritual concepts of this show. It touches on near death experiences (NDEs), parallel dimensions, alternative timelines, spirit guides, soul groups and so much more. For the average viewer, some of these topics can be easily missed or not fully understood, but the way the show deals with highly metaphysical topics in a manner in which the “average” individual can understand is remarkable.

For many individuals this may seem like a sci-fi or even a mystery kind of show, but for those with a knowledge of the metaphysical, this is a show which attempts (very successfully I may add) to explain parallel dimensions and timelines in a manner I have not seen before.

If you are looking for a engaging drama to watch this weekend, I highly recommend The OA.
